Yaw Agawu K

An award-winning novelist for his debut novel, The Restless Crucible, which won the African Literature Association Book of the Year Award-Creative Writing 2024 for an outstanding book of African literature by an African writer published in 2023, Yaw Agawu-Kakraba is a Professor of Spanish and African Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Born in Ghana, he received his BA in Spanish and Linguistics from the University of Ghana, an MA in Spanish from University of Alberta, Canada, and a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Cornell University.

His many research interests and publications include 20th/21st Century Spanishfiction and culture, Latin American literature, Afro-Hispanic literature and cultures, and African literature. His academic publications include Postmodernity in Spanish Fiction and Culture and Demythifi cation in the Fiction of Miguel Delibes. Co-editor of Diasporic Identities with Afro-Hispanic and African Contexts and African, Lusophone, and Afro-Hispanic Cultural Dialogue, his essays haveappeared in major academic journals around the globe.
